CoConspirators Brewing’s The Matriarch was one of Australia’s early entries into the world of New England IPAs and she’s one that’s stood the test of time, always reappearing with a fresh array of fruity hops. To mark her longevity and continued appeal, the Brunswick brewery are hosting a Matriarch Day that lasts for not one, not two but three whole days, which you can read about here.
As part of the celebration, some new hazy IPAs will make an appearance, including this one The Double Matriarch. The double NEIPA features the same hoppy combination as her elder, with El Dorado, Mosaic and Citra all within the underworld figure’s powerful grasp. It means she’s filled with the fruit flavours and aromas you might already love from Matriarch Mark I with juicy pineapple, sherbet orange, guava and stonefruit all combining for a hefty fruit bowl punch. As a beer that's unmistakably bigger than the original, there's also an added layer of sweetness and a slick, fluffy and altogether lush body.
