As much as Brunswick has moved away from its industrial past, you can’t help but feel there will never be a shortage of panel beaters. In this part of Melbourne's inner north, there's just too many workshops and cars that need the work and even if they vanished, you could call into CoConspirators and ask them for their help (or at least enjoy a beer while waiting for your car to be fixed). Two years ago, they turned an old workshop into a modern beershop and to celebrate that second birthday, they’ve brewed The Customiser, a West Coast Pilsner.
Given the label design, we can only assume that if something goes wrong at CoConspirators, cofounder Maggie Smit is the one to fix it. Either that, or it's a reference to how seamlessly two different styles can come together, with The Customiser and increadibly lean, dry and refreshing lager that packs a hoppy punch. That's all thanks to Mosaic and Motueka which give out grapefruit, orange lollies and a tropical tone while the substantial bitterness is as satisifying as a fresh rear spoiler.

If you'd like to be among the first to taste The Customiser and join in on the birthday cheer then head to CoConspirators' brewpub on December 2.
