Just as Daniel Craig is the best Bond (now there’s a way to quickly create controversy), martinis are best served shaken not served. Here to prove that point is The Shaker, a collaboration between the ever-creative team at Pours Cocktails and CoConspirators Brewing.
The classy fellow was born to recreate a classic French martini and its mix of vodka, pineapple juice and raspberry liqueur (AKA Chambord (AKA the drink everyone tried once when turning 18 but will never drink again (at least until they turn 80 (I’m trapped in a grammatical rabbit hole of brackets – send help!)))). Find an appropriately fancy bit of short glassware and you’ll certainly be treated to a classic cocktail-like experience; The Shaker provides a particularly tart blend of raspberry and pineapple. You can even leave the garnish behind as lime fits snugly into the beer’s lasting sour finish.
Speaking of classics, one of CoConspirators' very own has made a return, with The Butcher back and in 440ml cans. If you’ve never met, the rather violent character is one of their very first creations and matches some heavyweight American hops (Centennial, Mosaic and Amarillo) with a blend of rich malts. There's a reason he's kept coming back too: The Butcher is filled with a lovely array of pine, grapefruit, strawberry jam, caramel and toffee. Not so violent after all!
