Gosh, I can’t keep up with all of Slipstream’s IPA series. And… here’s another one!
Jetsetter is a series for the haze heads who want to taste bold hops from around the globe. And the first instalment is arguably from the best spot on the globe.
This Aussie hazy features three of HPA’s favourite kids* - Galaxy, Eclipse and experimental hop HPA-033. The official tasting notes for this beer look to each hop variety’s best known descriptor, which are respectively passionfruit, mandarin and mango. But personally, the first thing I got from this beer was a barrage of orange zest vibes, all fresh and full in the face. It was only after this that the mango and mandarin on the label sidled their way in, along with a light bitterness and a lovely soft wheat character that kept everything levelled out.
Oh, and the colour of the beer was almost a perfect match for the mango I was cutting up for dessert. Which is irrelevant to you, perhaps, but was kind of nice for me.

*Oh come on, you’re not still naïve enough to think that parents don’t have favourite children, are you?
