Just when you thought you'd tried basically every type of beer under the sun, this comes along. Hop Nation's (well, Dog Nation's) beer for pets is suitable for dogs and cats of all ages and, thanks to Dog Beer containing no alcohol, collagen protein and 19 amino acids, it's good for joints, coats and gut health.
Better yet, it's made entirely with human grade foods so while it might be designed for four-legged friends and vet-approved, humans can drink it too.
(In all honesty, before tasting this beer, multiple enquiries were made to the Hop Nation team to make sure I could try it and wasn't about to do something very, very dumb. At the time of writing, I think I'm one of a very small number of humans to actually drink it, with Hop Nation co-founder Dunc Gibson ensuring it stood up to their brewery's exacting quality standards for humans, canines and felines).
Not having a dog of my own, I took it over to a friend's place to share it with Willie Moondog, who I choose to believe is named after me and who kind of looks like the white dog on the can with a bandana. Although Dog Beer does contain grass-fed leg bones, fortunately, that’s not a particularly heavy flavour. Instead, it's quite light while the salinity and (presumably) those amino acids bring a minerality to the fore, so if you picture a lightly flavoured beef broth, that's pretty close to what we have here.
If those aren't what you seek in a beer, you could always crack a can of the Rat Dog and let your actual dog enjoy this one.
