Brewing tends to be pretty industrial but, even when you’re making beer inside a manufacturing hub, you can still find inspiration in the natural world around you. In Hop Nation’s case, their Blood Sour came about courtesy of the seasonal joy of watching passion flowers grow outside their brewery and, naturally, they decided to partner craft beer's number one fruit,* with blood plum (which I truly believe to be one of summer's most under-appreciated fruits.).
Pouring a vibrant pink, it's a beer filled with bright fruit tones from the blood plum with the passionfruit coming through heavier on the aroma while still adding a tropical juice-like sweetness. The tartness, meanwhile, is upfront and sticks around with each sip to make for a thirst-quenching and refreshing sour built for these summer days.

*OK, so mango might have something to say about that.
