Like hot cross buns, Easter beers seem to be appearing earlier and earlier each year. Will we one day rich a point where, still full from our Christmas meals, we walk into a bottleshop and find rich and chocolatey stouts filling the fridge? Given there's arguably no bad time to enjoy chocolate and beer together, one can only hope.
Blackman’s Brewery’s celebration of the most chocolatey time of year comes in the shape of Milk Choc Easter Egg Stout. It's a beer made with real cocoa, while seven different malts and lactose help drive it's rich and creamy center. If you picture drinking a glass of smooth milk chocolate then you're in the right place but add in a roasted side and a bit off bitterness to remind you you're still in beer territory. Having said that, you could easily divert further from beer and enjoy it out of an Easter egg which I'd argue, is how we should be drinking beer year-round.
