Bad Shepherd Salted Caramel Milk Stout

They brew the full gamut of beer styles at Bad Shepherd but sweets are never too far from their mind. They launched with Hazelnut Brown Ale which quickly became a cult phenomenon and some years later, they brought out Peanut Butter Porter which has found as much love from beer drinkers - which feels like a bit of a sign that beer palates might be getting sweeter.

Salted Caramel Milk Stout has seen the brewery team up with Melbourne’s iconic Koko Black. The stout uses the chocolatiers’ cocoa power and their salted caramel, which brings rich swirls of chocolate, salted caramel and brown sugar meets toffee. But while we might have already suggested there’s a perennial sweet tooth at work at Bad Shepherd, there’s a moreish nature to the smooth beer driven by a deft touch between its richness and dry finish.
