When it was first brewed, the strawberry sour ale at SHBC was only ever meant to be a limited release. But the punters loved it and clamoured for it so much that it made its way into the regular line-up as Sailors Strawberry Sour.
This is a strawberry sour strap in liquid form. It pours an apricot blush (I suppose you can spot a pinkish tinge if you look hard enough), and smells like a bowlful of strawberries coated with crystallised sugar. But you’ll definitely notice sourness rather than sweetness when you start to drink - think a bright sherbet acidity rather than a face pucker.
I kind of want to drink this in a big wine glass with ice cubes and muddled mint leaves and a sugar rim. Or maybe go the whole way and make a mojito with it, subbing out the soda water for this strawberry sour. That'd slap.
