Scarborough Harbour Mariner Mid-Strength

If you’re a mariner, out on the open sea for hours or days or months on end, you need to pace your beer consumption. And if you plan to sit on the deck at Scarborough Harbour Brewing for several hours on end, the same applies.

Mariner Mid-Strength is one of those go-the-distance beers that balances flavour and sessionability. The hop aroma serves up a little citrus, a little stone fruit, a little floral, but these ease off in the mouth just enough to keep you guzzling. Despite the pale colour of the beer, there’s also a nice biscuity, almost toasty quality to the malt character that comes through, which I personally am very happy about. Viva la malt!
