You know how you meet those people who are effortlessly cool?
Reef Point Lager is a laidback character who isn’t looking for anyone’s approval. It’s confident in its own skin - a straight-down-the-line clean lager, smooth and easy in the mouth with a touch of spice and a light honeyed note that gives the impression of sweetness while the body stays dry and crisp (courtesy of the rice addition).
Reef Point doesn’t feel the need to big itself up, but it’s picked up a tidy collection of medals. It doesn’t feel the need to blow you away with new world hops or specialty malts, but each week, punters at the brewery drink more of this beer than any other beer on tap. There’s nothing new or novel about it, but it was the first beer they brewed at SHBC.
And slugging Reef Points downstairs in the brewery, or in the sun by the marina? Classic Scarborough Harbour.
