Sometimes it feels like not a day goes by when Banks Brewing aren’t dreaming up a new hazy and Secretly Ripped is dedicated to satisfying juicy cravings. Sure, ripped might be in its name but what we have here is instead a lush, soft and fundamentally gentle hazy IPA while the featured hops are HBC’s experimental 586 plus Simcoe and Citra in Cryo form. Pouring with a light golden haze, the IPA immediately lets loose pine on the nose and to taste, that aroma is joined by mango, guava, lychee and candied orange.
Joining Secretly Ripped is a beer that certainly won’t make you ripped, Don’t Chase Me, I’m Buzzed And Full of Chocolate. The imperil pastry stout was brewed with the support of Banks’ mates, Little Rebel Cofee Roasters. It features their Rio Grande Estate Coffee along with Tahitian vanilla beans and cacao nibs to make for one big and rich beer. The aroma is mostly led by roasted espresso while sweet layers of chocolate and vanilla soon follow through.
If you'd like to learn a whole lot more about Banks' hazies, then we've got good news for you. We're hosting a masterclass at the Braeside brewery for our Crafty Cabal members - find out more here.
