In true Banks fashion, they’ve taken their inspiration from very different places with these two limited releases. Don’t Tell California is a Cali IPA that looks to have been plucked out of Barbie’s DreamHouse: lean, crisp and blending all things dank with a tropical twist. On that fruit-froward side, there’s pineapple, guava and grape, all joined by resinous pine and a dank, earthy bitterness.
Calling Cows meanwhile includes instructions and a competition for city slickers on how to properly bring the cows in (do you “bring cows in”? And if so, into where? I better ask the Banks crew for a bit more education).
It’s also a milk stout with a twist thanks to the time spent ageing away in Starward whisky barrels. That time on oak contributed burnt sugar and spiced booze to a dark beer already rich, lush and filled with dark chocolate flavours.
