You might not know it but there’s a close connection between craft beer and deathmatch wrestling. If you don’t know how, or even what that form of wrestling is, then you can read all about the bloody, bruising and lovely world of Deathmatch Downunder here. The aptly-named Crispy Nelson is hopped entirely with Nelson Sauvin and the lean and crisp lager is a superb showcase of the Kiwi hop. Like an atomic drop, there is an intense wave of gooseberry, white grape and guava while a touch of sticky resin ties it all together. Meanwhile, the softly bitter finish ensures that like deathmatch, it's all a bit more gentle than things might at first seem.
