To understand All Play And No Work we need to go back to the time before COVID, 2019. Back then, Tallboy & Moose teamed up with Deeds to absolutely pummel a hazy DIPA with hops - 40 grams per litre to be exact - to create All Work & No Play, in reference to excellent read and watch (and Treehouse of Horror episode), The Shinning. Flash forward to 2022 and they’ve come together again but rather than focusing on haze, they've moved in a different hoppy direction to brew this middle-finger-to-the-BJCP "Cryo Cold IPL".
Rather than Amarillo, Vic Secret, and Simcoe, All Play And No Work has been hit with the Cryo Idaho 7, Loral, Talus and Eclipse hops and the result is a collaboration filled with stone fruit, tropical fruit bowl and citrus that comes across like eating a mandarin, a tangerine and grapefruit at once. It might be quite a made up style but if you expect both your IPLs and your Cold IPAs to be incredibly clean and crisp, then you'll find a lot of what you love about both styles, while its substantial bitterness leans it more towards the IPA camp.
