Back in April 2021, a cross-continental trio made up of Perth’s Bright Tank, Melbourne’s Bonehead Brewing and WA-based beerstagrammer Daniel Loves Beer saw the two breweries trade hazy recipes. The memories surrounding the subsequent collaboration are more cherished than many from that moment in time most would rather forget, and the second iteration of Into The Sun arrives just as the sun itself is melting the bitumen outside Bright Tank's home in Brown Street, East Perth.
In refining the OG release, Australian Eclipse and Galaxy hops still serve up passionfruit and citrus, however dip-hopping has imbued the liquid with a round bitterness, one which harmonises with what's a very juicy body for a beer of relatively moderate size.
Speaking of which, it’s amazing what a 0.5 percent drop in ABV does for drinkability, while a touch of sweetness late on adds generosity to proceedings, and makes this trip Into The Sun one that glows.
