With typical tongue-in-cheek humour, Bonehead Brewing have announced Berried Alive Again as "the sequel that we wanted to do and no one asked for!" Given I didn't taste the original (there's a lot of breweries releasing a lot of beers, after all), who knows if I'd have been clamouring for a sequel, one that maintains the movie theme with a comic book-style label featuring a fist rising from a grave reminiscent of the end of Carrie, albeit with a screaming young woman replaced by a handful of berries, blood by berry juice.
It's a mixed berry and vanilla sour – one in which they claim to have gone "bigger and badder" – and pours like a smoothie: cloudy pink with a white head. That said, despite such appearances, the fruit still holds court ahead of the creaminess, aided by a cleansing tartness that keeps it feeling sprightlier than its 7 percent ABV.
