They might be better known for their high-octane releases but Dainton Beer have been playing in the lower ABV space for some time. In 2019, they brewed New Age IPA; a 0.9 percent beer that had an ABV so low, it was a rarity when released. But as the years have flown by, craft breweries have been increasingly loading small beers with hops and in 2022, New Age made a return with an even lower ABV, with the alcohol-free beer added to Dainton's core range.
It's also returned with a new look and a new style, with the I in IPA switched out for an X but plenty of hops still at play. Largely those are in the form of fresh tropical aromas, with flavours of juicy nectarine, peach and grapefruit. Although New Age may be booze-less, it has quite a bit of body, softness and a dose of flavour alcohol tends to bring (we assume thanks to the inclusion of lactose) while a substantial bitterness plays the final note.
