Ocean Reach tend to seek inspiration for limited-release beers from the worlds of music and art and it’s safe to say It’s Time reaches new heights. OK, so maybe not everyone feels that the song which accompanied Gough Whitlam’s 1972 election campaign was a certifiable banger - and it feels like this beer might be referencing another tune entirely - but that’s the initial thought I had when seeing the can and I’m sticking with it.
What isn’t up for interpretation is the fact that It’s Time is a West Coast IPA that’s loaded with the all-American lineup of Azacca, El Dorado and Simcoe hops. It's a wonderous trilogy for any bitter IPA and here they come together for a tongue-coating display of pine, resin, pithy grapefruit, mango and pineapple, which all stick around for some time after the beer is gone (a bit like Whitlam's reforms).
