It’s always best to turn a bad situation into something good and when you’re Ocean Reach, that something good tends to include hops. Earlier in the year, a croc-wearing man of mystery broke into their Phillip Island taproom, suggesting that even the criminally hardened understand that it’s better to be comfortable than fashionable. In dedication to that night, the brewery made a West Coast tribute called Croc Crim. We’re not sure what he took, but it’s safe to say he didn’t walk out with arms full of modern hops, since this IPA provides sweet and juicy passionfruit alongside more old-school notes of grapefruit, citrus rind, and pine.
Let’s See, meanwhile, is a hazy IPA that has its eyes glued firmly on the future, with Ocean Reach wanting to test out the new LalBrew Pomona yeast, which you can read about here. You could consider "Let's See" a somewhat ironic name given there’s no way to see your fingers through the beer, with an opaque cloudiness a pretty obvious visual clue that there’s no shortage of juice to be found here. Indeed, pick your favourite type of juice and there's a good chance you'll find it here (OK, maybe not tomato), with the IPA filled with flavours of guava, pear, passionfruit, and freshly squeezed orange that all swirl around a fluffy, smooth, and somewhat slick body.
