Birthdays are often permission to indulge in a little excess, and much seems to have been granted for Blasta’s fourth. For starters, this quad IPA is the biggest beer the Burswood team have ever made, contains one the largest hop additions ever over four charges to boot, and utilised dip-hopping for good measure. And that was all before invites were sent out!
The resulting liquid enthusiasm is undeniably huge, yet somehow balanced in its excess. Its late season summer fruit bowl shows off guava, juicy fresh and dried mango, sweet OJ, hints of lime, peaches and cream, nectarine peel and more, as the substantial size comes in and out of focus with each double digit ABV sip. Bitterness and carbonation barely rise above the fruity fiesta – this is all out party juice!
In short: happy birthday, Blasta!
