As the days of the West Coast's escalating summer baking roll on – "It’s a dry heat" – Blasta arrive to offer relief via a very straightforward quencher.
Normally known for hop forward expressions, or zippy, heavily-fruited sours, here the brewers serve up something rather different: the light malt profile, tight carbonation, and low hop impact screams clean, smashable lager – a pub beer if you will, and one set to join its siblings amid rarified gastropub surroundings as the Burswood brewery’s venue experience expands.
In the meantime, Blasta’s Summer Lager is the kind of beer which, as the ice in the esky melts into a chunky slurry, brings all the crisp refreshment anyone could ask for.
