Now in its sixth round, Uppercut is Green Beacon’s annual celebration of the big, the bold and the hoppy. The double IPA has come in many shapes and sizes over the years, featuring different hop combinations, yeasts and alcohol content – albeit, every year it's predominantly a showcase for hops.
The 2019 iteration is a double dry-hopped imperial IPA (or DDH IIPA if you want to fit it all on a tinnie) and has been given a wider release compared with previous years too. That will likely come as welcome news to fans of big beers that punch out notes of mango, pine and citrus while, at 8 percent ABV, they'll find some malt sweetness in the mix too.
