Are we in a position yet to describe a beer as a line and length New England style IPA? Have Aussie brewers here been releasing beers in the style long enough for that to be a valid judgement call? Very probably. And, were you to nominate someone in the current climate to turn out such a beer, would Green Beacon be high on the shortlist? Very probably, what with their knack for knocking out fine beers in seemingly any style they fancy (and the trophies to prove it).
Which brings as to their latest Cutwater release, a "hazy IPA" that's been sent nationwide in cans. Hazy and pale appearance... check. Tropical fruit salad aromas in abundance... check. Soft yet textural mouthfeel... check. Hop-derived flavours as opposed to hop-derived bitterness... check. One of the most enjoyable local takes on the style you'll find... naturally.
