The Royal Melbourne Oktoberfest promises to give attendees an experience closer to the original in Munich than any other event to date in Australia.
For the first time, all six of the breweries that make up the tradition two-week celebration in the Bavarian capital will be under the one roof in Australia.
They will be providing some of the 50-plus imported German beers on offer, pouring alongside cider, wine, schnapps, spirit mixers and more.
The historic building will also play host to traditional Oktoberfest entertainment: German oompah bands, folk dancing, on-stage competitions and hearty meals such as pork hocks, schnitzels, bratwurst, brathendl (roast chickens), pretzels and German pastries.
The event runs over two sessions on September 23, the middle weekend of the Munich event. Tickets cost $35 plus BF for each, which run at the following times:
- Day: midday to 5pm
- Evening: 6.30pm to 11.30pm
