Bridge Road Brewers’ harvest beers are one of the finest moments in the Australian craft beer calendar; they're country’s longest-running fresh hopped beer series while also being some of the earliest released each year. It means they signal the start of a wave of beers that utilise those hops as they're pulled off the bine during harvest and, while Bridge Road's longstanding twins have a lot of history, there's always something new to be found too.
Since 2022, they’ve been a collaborative effort with breweries that join Bridge Road at their High Country Hop Festival. Here, Hazy Harvest has seen them partner with one of the country’s most-awarded breweries, Moffat Beach Brewing. It’s a beer that’s all about that fresh Galaxy (which made it from Hop Products Australia's nearest farm to brew kettle in around six hours) and haze with a lush and textural mouthfeel coating the palate. Those fresh hops present heavily as peach, passionfruit and melon while a touch of spice leans into the beer's gentle bitterness.
Dark Harvest, meanwhile, saw Bridge Road invite Deeds to brew a beer in which dark and roasted malts rule the roost. Having said that, it's a particularly lean darker beer in which light layers of chocolate and roasted notes meet with Galaxy-derived fuzzy peach, nectarine, pine and a floral spice.
