It might officially be Autumn, but the beer calendar is still hot, with events and festivals still going strong, especially as fresh hop season gets closer. Cabalistas can make the most of it, thanks to a bumper crop of special events and new offers.
Modus Operandi is set to launch a limited release beer in cans at the end of March. And we've hooked up with them to put on a special event for supporters of The Crafty Pint.
Crafty Cabal members are invited to join owner Grant Wearin and head brewer Dennis de Boer for an access all areas tour of the brewery, a Q&A hosted by The Crafty Pint and then a tasting of the new can alongside similar beers from the brewery's range.
There will be food and something special for Cabalistas to take home too. For those based near the CBD, we're also putting on buses to and from the city thanks to Dave's Brewery Tours.
Because it's a supporter exclusive, all the above – buses, tour, Q&A, beers, food and take home gift – costs just $20pp (or $12.50 for those who can make it straight to the brewery). There are just a few spots remaining, so grab a ticket and get thee to the cannery!
From Balter To The Grave
Congratulations to Adam Gibb of Burpengary, Queensland, for winning the bumper pack of beers and merch from Balter Brewing.
Next up, Cabalistas can go in to the draw win a salty seafaring pack of beers from Sailors Grave – one of Victoria's newest and most innovative young breweries. Whether it's goses, grisettes or saisons, the team at Sailors Grave certainly don't shy away from doing things differently.
At the end of March, we'll be drawing three members who will each win a mixed case filled with:
- Drowned Man IPA
- Down She Goes
- Southern Right Ale
- Honey, Hay & Tea Grisette
- Blueberry Berliner Weisse
- Rapsberry & Elderflower Grisette
Keep an eye on your Cabal account to get your name in the draw soon. We're also switching the drawing of our monthly #craftycabal social photos comp to the middle of the month. We'll be picking our favourite pic in a couple of weeks and sending out a bottle of White Rabbit's TeddyWidder Berliner Weisse.
Fresh (Hopped) In Launceston
The Fresh Hop Festival in Tasmania showcases nothing but beers made with fresh hops from the year's hop harvest – and we're talking beers made within 48 hours of the hops being picked.
The three day festival in Launceston will feature beers from 26 Australian breweries and we've got two double passes to each day of the festival to give away. Just head to your Cabal account to enter the draw.
For any beer lovers yet to jump on board, we've also got signup bonuses worth $60-plus each, featuring weekend admission for two people, drinks tokens, and a festival t-shirt.
There's five left (at time of writing) – head here to take advantage.
To The Valley
We've also got six ticket & token packs to the Yarra Valley Beer & Cider Festival, worth $35 each, to give away to Cabal members.
Bringing together Victorian brewers, cider makers and food stalls, the Yarra Valley Beer & Cider Festival is the perfect way to spend the start of April, with it taking place at the Lilydale Showgrounds on April 1.
Put your name in the draw now, and we'll draw winners on March 9.
And we've got three double ticket & token packs worth $70 each for new members too (well, two left at time of writing). Grab yours here.
Lovers of Mountain Goat and aspiring brewers have got themselves covered with the latest offers to join the Crafty Cabal lineup.
- Head to The Public Brewery and you can do an on-site brew (either standard or premium) with $50 off the regular price.
- Get a pot of every new release from Mountain Goat thanks to their new Cabal offer, which allows Cabalistas to redeem a pot of whatever new brew is released at the Richmond brewery on Fridays.
- Save 10% on mixed six packs at Harvest Cellars in Belgrave, VIC when you stop in.
- Take home a free Your Mates growler when you buy a fill at their Nambour home, The Basement (pictured above).
- Head to Date Night with The Public Brewery at Bad Shepherd tonight and your first beer is free.
We'll lock in all our Brewsvegas activities over the weekend / early next week and be back with more offers and events next week too.
Get Experimental At High Country Hops
Heading to High Country Hops in Beechworth later this month? Join Bridge Road Brewers founder Ben Kraus for a guided tasting of beers brewed with a range of unreleased hops.
We've almost filled this exclusive session, so if you're heading Beechworth way on March 25, make sure to get your name in the ballot for the tasting soon – we'll be notifying winners on March 9.
If you entered the draw to attend the special trade session of the Good Beer Week Gala Showcase, which includes a private Cabal-only tasting, make sure to check your emails, as winners were contacted this week.
Don't forget, you can still buy tickets to the Gala Showcase, which is back at Federation Square this year. Tickets are available from here for the Showcase on March 16 and 17.
We'll hopefully catch some of the 40-odd Cabalistas we're sending to Melbourne BeerFest this weekend too.
