Were you to close your eyes and imagine a table laid out with freshly made Italian food, odds are that, such are the historical links, any glass on said table will be filled with wine. But despite being entwined to the vine, the Italian craft beer scene is utterly thriving as people discover how well beer's different and wider range of flavours can contribute to a meal.
And that, in a roundabout way, brings us to the table of Mr. Ottorino.
The Fitzroy restaurant specialises in Southern Italian cuisine with a local twist and they're putting on a special degustation showcasing one of their local breweries.
On the evening of August 16 you'll get to enjoy five courses of homemade Sicilian food alongside five beers from Two Birds Brewing.
Brewery founder and all round font of knowledge Jayne Lewis as well as Head Brewer and all round lovely chap Wilson Hede will be along to guide you through everything you could possibly wish to know about the beer, while executive chef Matt Tine will dissect the dishes and discuss flavour matching.
