Amid the constant flow of limited and seasonal releases, Rocky Ridge have expanded their core range with a refreshingly tart, fruited sour in the form of Rock Candy – a beer five years in the making that should slot effortlessly into the creative lineup from the Jindong brewers.
Passionfruit, kiwifruit and strawberry all feature in the beer's fruit forward palate while retaining a pleasing drinkability. A short but sharp finish cleanses the palate with each sip, further enhancing its fruity, refreshing nature, while 5.5 percent ABV hints at repeatability – at least when sat alongside many of their far larger concoctions.
It makes for a simple but entirely effective offering from Rocky Ridge, with Rock Candy a great all-rounder for those looking for a fruit-leaning sour existing well away from lactose-laden pastry bombs.
