Hawkers Beer Saint Hildegard 2022

For the past four years, Hawkers have invited the women at their brewery to design and brew a beer for International Women's Day. All have shared the same name in honour of the 12th century polymath regarded as the patron saint of hops, but each year the beer has been different.

For their 2022 release, they've moved away from hops and into the realm of fruited sours with a passionfruit gose. And you have to say that, once poured into your glass, it looks rather like the liquid scraped from a passionfruit thanks to its viscous / gelatinous appearance and indeed its pale yellowness. The passionfruit is as vibrant on the nose and palate too, to the extent I reckon you could whip it through a bowl of dense, rich and creamy yoghurt and be in for a right old treat.
