While they became known for their outrageous approach to beer, names and labels, Moon Dog got themselves where they are today in terms of volume with rather more sessionable options. And that's where Goin' Steady fits, a mid-strength beer tagged XPA that's been added to their core range in spring 2021 and which is as restrained as anything they've released: bright golden with some light, red berry-meets-candy-meets-sweet-biscuit malts.
Also making its way into a core range that, with the addition of the Fizzer lineup, must give the Melbourne brewers one of the most expansive in the land, Alcoholic Ginger Beer looks like one of those sports drinks made by dolloping powder into your drink bottle. It doesn't drink like one, however, instead serving up sweet, lemon-tinged ginger on the nose which is joined by something more savoury to taste. Spritzy, a little sweet, a little prickly, and at 4 percent ABV, almost as session-friendly as Goin' Steady.

NB Moon Dog have since released a tweaked version of the ginger beer, which you can read about here.
