Deeds have dipped into the recipe book and pulled out a couple of past favourites to herald the arrival of autumn – quite literally in the case of Daydreaming In Autumn. The DDH hazy pale was designed for sitting around a campfire, which is exactly where my cans were cracked, with the predominantly Kiwi hop bill – Kohatu, Wakatu and Wai-iti plus American Mosaic – coming together to create an easy-going easy-drinker. Very citrusy from the off, with a herbal edge and a little softness on the palate, it's not one to get in the way of fireside chat. Or, presumably, daydreaming.
Keyboard Warrior is a rather larger beast – almost twice the size, in fact – yet shares some common ground beyond being hazy and drenched in hops (to the tune of 26 grams per litre). This triple IPA also possesses a softness and smoothness of texture, with the predominantly passionfruit and citrus characters having a crème like essence. Indeed, despite the name, the 10 percent ABV, and the people it's referencing (who can be rather forthright), it's a surprisingly gentle affair.
