The Victorian city of Bendigo strives to be a centre of art and culture. Paris: Impressions of Life 1880 – 1925 is an international exhibition currently on show at the Bendigo Art Gallery. Much like 2023's successful Elvis Exhibition, which itself inspired a selection of Graceland-esque brews, the city has embraced the French theme with "Bonjour Bendigo".
Always eager to contribute to the success of the city’s events, Cornella Brewery have produced Bière De Garde, a sparkling farmhouse ale aged in French oak and conditioned in elegant 750ml champagne bottles. In the glass, it presents gorgeously with a fluffy white head and medium amber hue. Featuring estery aromatics and flavours, the beer finishes bitter and sweet with a higher-than-average carbonation that’s suitably akin to sparkling French champagne.
Whilst Bière de Garde is a limited release, brewed specifically to complement the array of French-style menus being served across the city, it can also be found in some of Melbourne’s craftier venues. That being said, please pay a visit to our temporary "city of love and light".
Encore, s’il vous plait, en effet.
