Uraidla continue to punch well above their weight with Demigod, an 8 percent ABV double West Coast IPA. Here, the brewers put down layers of specialty malts as the base for old school Columbus and Centennial hops to go to work alongside newer variety Idaho 7. The end result is a West Coaster on steroids: muscular, yet refined and balanced.
The base malts create a sticky, chewy mouthfeel which carries a little nutty crystal sweetness before the classic hops that helped define craft beer in the US chime in with huge pine and resin characteristics along with a touch of orange citrus. Huge their impact might be, but they can't prevent the malt-derived sweetness riding all the way through until it finish, when a solid but balanced bitterness comes accompanied by a dryness.
If you're a fan of big IPAs, this Demigod is utterly heavenly.
