Another day and it’s another banging pale ale from Moffatt Beach Brewing Co. A few weeks on from the Sunshine Coast award-winners creating magic out of an out-of-favour hop to brew their Fridge Filler Affordable Ale, they’ve swivelled toward a pair of new hops from the Yakima Valley – so new in fact we don’t have a name for them – to create Resin Hopsicle.
There’s nothing to share yet about these hops aside from what they impart on this beer, which is a really strong hit of peach, along with gentler notes of resin and orange-sherbet. Alongside restrained bitterness and a slight chewy sweetness, it’s another supremely drinkable number with hops that feel unlikely to remain a mystery for much longer.
