We're Going On A Beer Hunt

Beer tourism is an oft-touted economic benefit of the rise of local breweries. Now two suburban areas with more local beer than most have invested in the establishment of local brewery trails with support from local government.

The Smith Street Beer

A tradition at Brisbane's Beer InCider Experience is for the headline band to brew a beer. For the 2018 festival, this has seen The Smith Street Band create an IPA with the crew set to open a brewpub in Smith Street: Fixation.

Crafty Crawls: The 86 Tram Pt I

We kicked off our Crafty Crawls series of guides to Australia's best beer venues, grouped by their proximity and easily navigable by foot, bike or public transport, with the 86 tram. Two years on, there's so much more to find, it's now a two-parter.

Who Brews At The Mill?

At the start of 217, The Mill Brewery opened its doors in Collingwood for the first time, joining the suburb's ever expanding craft community. As the year draws to a close, The Crafty Pint called in for a chat with the brewery's founder, Mirek Aldridge.

A Fixed Abode

Fans of Fixation's IPAs have an additional reason to get excited. The award-winning brewing company is less than six months away from opening a brewpub in Collingwood. Will Ziebell finds out more from Mr Fixation, Tom Delmont.

Craft Beer Heroes: Clodagh Harris

As The Fox Hotel in Collingwood prepares to host its tenth birthday bash, we caught up with one of its three founders. Clodagh Harris has been working in and around beer in Melbourne for two decades, educating and inspiring many others along the way.

Brew & A: Greg Mace – The Craft & Co

It's Waitangi Day and the first ever Hottest 100 Kiwi Craft Beers countdown too. So it feels like as good a time as any to run our Brew & A with Greg Mace, a Kiwi brewer who now plies his trade in Melbourne.

Beer Food: The Chuck Norris of Collingwood

When you've got a brewery, restaurant, bar and deli under one roof, it makes sense to cross-pollinate. And that's what they're doing at The Craft & Co where the symbiosis between beer and food goes beyond simple pairing.

Breaking New Ground

The irrepressible trailblazers behind The Local Taphouses and GABS are adding another string to their bow. Later this year, they open Stomping Ground Brewery in Collingwood. Before then, you can have a sneak peek during Good Beer Week.

The Theatre Of Indulgence

New Collingwood venue The Craft & Co is looking to bring craft beer, spirits, meat and more together under one roof. The plan is also to give new brewing companies a foothold in the industry. Kerry McBride checked it out.
