Dainton Beer have long called Carrum Downs home and last year, they launched another venue in Croydon.
If you'd like to help run either, they're looking for assistant venue managers for each spot.
Job Description: Assistant Venue Managers
Dainton Beer is looking for two passionate and enthusiastic Assistant Venue Managers to join our teams! We love beer and so should you! Or at the very least, love hospitality and the thrill of being in a (sometimes) fast-paced working environment.
You’ll bring an energetic and excited attitude with a willingness to knuckle down and put in some good ol’ elbow grease to sling our beers and delicious food from the kitchen to our loving locals. Customer-focused with a thirst for promoting the Dainton mission and values you’ll be a dynamic mix of passionate zest and well-groomed professionalism.

The Opportunities!
Carrum Downs
Our production brewery & taphouse opened its doors in 2016 in Carrum Downs. This venue has been the heart and soul of the craft beer industry in this area and offers an open and welcoming dining area, both inside and outside. The Carrum Downs location hosts an array of seasonal events; including vinyl fairs, comedy nights, charity fundraising events, and masterclasses allowing us to support local businesses and offer unique experiences for our customers.
Croydon
Featuring our soon to be up and running pilot brewery the Croydon Taphouse is a little firecracker of fun. From packed out trivia on Wednesdays to family friendly Sundays this venue always has something on! This is a new venture for us and we’re still building up the hype and excitement. Make no mistake, this is one happening little brewhouse!
The Role:
- Bring exceptional customer service to our wonderful customers
- Working in the bar, waiting tables and always talking the language of beer
- Supporting the Venue Manager in the running of the venue
- Implementing policies and procedures
- Running day to day shifts
- On shift staff training and management
- Cash handling
- Cellar management
- Rostering (following direction from Venue Manager)
- FOH ordering (following direction from Venue Manager)
- Managing QR code system
- Engaging with customers & building a rapport with regular clientele
Experience & Skills:
- Exceptional customer service and relationship building skills
- Previous experience in hospitality management or supervisory roles
- Strong leadership skills with focus on staff development
- Organisational and time management skills
- Strong interest in craft beer or at least a passion in learning about all things beer
- Comfortable working towards and meeting KPI’s
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to multitask in fast paced situations and environments
- Able and willing to work weekends, public holidays, opening and closing shifts
- Must hold a valid RSA
