Job Description: Taproom Leader

We are seeking an experienced and passionate hospitality leader. As the Taproom Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Taproom. A full-time role, you will be hands-on during service for four days per week plus one day dedicated to administrative and planning tasks.

About Wolf of the Willows:

Est. 2014, Wolf of the Willows are a proudly independent, family owned brewing company, located in the Bayside suburb of Mordialloc VIC, Australia. We have a passion for producing small batch, handcrafted, independent, modern ales, from easy drinking pale ales, barrel aged beauties to thirst quenching hard seltzers.

Responsibilities: 

  • Recruit, train, manage, and genuinely inspire staff. Create and maintain rosters and labour forecasts, and of course lead by example.
  • Manage setup, operation, and pack down of the venue. 
  • Control operational costs; including (but not limited to) cost of goods and wage costs. 
  • Build strong connections with the local community and regular guests, fostering customer loyalty and customer satisfaction.
  • Liaise with, manage and plan bookings, including large-scale functions (up to 150 guests). 
  • Supervise event operations, functions, parties, and special events. 
  • Promote the brewery and events through various channels (eg social media), engaging with the community and increasing patronage.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective local area marketing strategies.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven leadership and team management skills in the hospitality industry. 
  • Passion for the food and beverage industry. 
  • Track record of increasing venue revenue and performance. 
  • Strong knowledge of craft beer and the brewing processes. 
  • Previous experience in the hospitality or craft brewing industry is highly desirable. 
  • Excellent organisational abilities and event management skills. 
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in POS systems and social media platforms. 
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
