Burleigh Brewing Burleigh Sass

Maybe it’s the heat, or maybe it’s the fact it’s home to Bundaberg but there’s a particular love for ginger beer in Queensland. In 2022, the Gold Coast pioneers at Burleigh Brewing added Burleigh Sass to their core range and while it might contain the root, it's a long way from many other ginger beers out there.

The bright ale with ginger does have plenty of the flavours and aromas you’d expect but there’s none of the sweetness or heat often found in such drinks. Instead, the ginger provides a light spice and refreshing note and is incredibly dry, while the beery base brings to mind the soft bitterness and touch of bready malt in a steam ale.
