In September last year, Hargreaves Hill decided to put their Pursuit of Hoppiness series on hiatus when they reached their tenth beer – a 10 percent ABV hazy triple IPA. Admittedly, their dedication to that hiatus didn't last too long as they soon released a fruited version of said beer. And you have to question just how far Uninterrupted Prosperity is from being a member of the same lineage: it's a significantly hopped NEIPA with a label of a piece with the 11 others, after all.
Yet a standalone release it is, albeit one that in terms of appearance and texture is arguably more of the hazy modern IPA ilk than a denser, softer, sweeter NEIPA. The name has been chosen in the hope of inspiring better times ahead; the liquid charged with such a task comes laden with Idaho 7 hops in both straight and Cryo form, alongside the lesser-seen Sequoia, a blend designed to give brewers familiar tropical, citrusy and piney characteristics to play with.
Ripe pineapple and stewed plums welcome you on the nose, with some spicy, booze-derived flavours arising from its midst. There's a pretty distinct bitterness too, albeit one that's not punchy, instead settling in like a blanket laid across your palate, and bringing with it a lingering pithy finish as the Yarra Valley brewer's pursuit of hoppiness continues seemingly uninterrupted.
