The Flex is a much-loved limited release from Burnley Brewing, with the classic West Coast IPA appearing, finding fans and then suddenly disappearing again (OK maybe disappearing is the wrong word since we know it's being bought and drunk). Over the years, the Melbourne brewers responded to that popularity with fresh spins on The Flex and in 2024, it received the ultimate beer promotion by joining the brewery’s core range as part of a refresh.
These days, it goes under the simpler name of IPA and has to be one of the most eye-catching core range beers out their courtesy of it’s bright pink colour scheme. Open that can up and you'll find it to pour a clear and golden amber hue with a soft biscuit character from the malt. Beyond that, it's a beer that's really all about the hops with herbal, peine and grapefruit notes combining against a bitter backdrop.
