The Italian pilsner is a style of lager that’s garnered a fair bit of attention in recent times; in WA alone there’s been more than a couple interpretations to appear in the early months of 2024.
Shelter’s take doesn’t stray too far from stylistic accuracy, offering up a fittingly light and crisp Euro lager that's sure to fare well with the coastal-dwelling drinkers in their hometown of Busselton. With a light-leaning malt profile and bright clarity, the beer's noble hop character pairs well with biscuity notes and a medium, grassy bitterness. The finish is short, sharp and very repeatable with just a touch of earthy, spicy hop character persisting.
After achieving solid results with what was initially a keg-only release, Shelter got their recipe down pat for this wider-reaching release in cans.
