As the golden rays deepen on King Road Brewing Co’s Olbury grounds, the brewers have astutely decided upon a refreshing low ABV fruited sour to slake the thirst of the thousands that arrive each weekend. Not a new idea by any means; however, as King Road continue to settle into their postcode this will very likely be a revelation for many.
Keeping with the seasonal theme, raspberry, guava and cherry feature, although the latter is more along for the ride. Subtle tartness and zippiness elevate the minerality, its brackish nature echoing the drinker’s steamy summer sudor [Yep, I had to look it up too, readers – Editor], the very thing befitting such a quaffable beer.
Those not enjoying the sour side of beer life should be pleased to know the warm weather also heralds the return of the brewery’s Strata IPL in which the brewery’s signature hop profile carries passionfruit and strawberry notes across the hoppy lager.
