Tell Us About It!

Back in April, Elwood teacher Torben Vedelsby left the classroom to find voicemails and emails awaiting him from the Good Beer Week team. Did he still live in Melbourne? Did he remember filling in a survey ten months earlier? Would he please give us a call?

Thankfully for him, the answer to all three was yes and the result was the presentation of the Golden Ticket for this year’s festival. That meant he received a ticket to a different event every day of Good Beer Week, starting with the Big Apple & The Goat NYC Degustation Lunch at Mountain Goat and ending with Meet The Maker: A Beer and Sake Adventure at Kumo Izakaya. The Crafty Pint was lucky enough to be part of his epic journey, from traipsing his five foot long ticket across Melbourne to The Local Taphouse St Kilda on public transport to make the presentation to sitting across the table from him at Kumo as he regaled the Good Beer Week team with his adventures and the many revelatory moments he’d experienced over the previous nine days (including ordering multiple packs of Spiegelau’s not-yet-in-Oz IPA glasses!).

He’d had one of the best weeks of his life – and now there’s a chance that you could too. On the day that Good Beer Week has announced its dates for 2014May 17 to 24, 2014 to be precise – the organising committee has also launched this year’s feedback surveys. In return for you telling us all about your experience, you go into the draw for 2014’s Golden Ticket – in other words, a ticket for a different event on each day of the festival.

You’ll find the punter survey here. There is also a second survey for venues and breweries that took part in Good Beer Week 2013 here. Both close on June 21, 2013.

Good Beer Week’s Siobhan Kerin said: “Thanks to everyone who hosted or attended an event at Good Beer Week 2013. For the third year running we’ve been blown away by what you helped us achieve.

“Before you all start planning for 2014, we ask for just one more thing from you – your feedback. We’re always striving to improve the festival and would appreciate your thoughts on how we did this year and any ideas you have to help us take Good Beer Week to another level next year.”

The survey will only take a few minutes and should help make the festival experience even better in the future. Good luck! And don’t forget to mark your diaries – May 17 to 25, 2014. See you then!
