Crafty Pint Films: Craft Beer In Australia

By the time this article appears on The Crafty Pint, the site’s founder will have delivered his seminar to the Craft Brewers Conference in Washington DC. The presentation that the guys running the US Brewers Association Export Development Program asked for covers both the current state of craft beer in Australia today as well as opportunities for US craft brewers in the future.

For the first part of this – and to ensure that the audience of American craft brewers didn’t have to listen to the same voice banging on for a solid 45 minutes – we invited a number of Aussie brewers, bar owners, drinkers, reps and professionals to the Great Northern in January on the promise that we’d pour free beer for them all night. We kept to our promise, but also collared a bunch of them on the way in and shoved them in front of a camera so we could ask them what they thought of the Australian craft beer industry today.

The result was this short film, shot and edited by the kind souls at New McPherson. We think it captures the essence of much of what is going on here today, including the positivity and excitement found throughout the local craft beer world.

Enjoy!
