Good Beer Week Steps Up

The Crafty Pint is hanging with the big boys now… Good Beer Week has announced that its print and radio media partners for 2013 will be Time Out and 3RRR. For the first two years of the festival, as it grew from the seed of an idea to Australia’s leading celebration of the best of the beer world, it was just little old Crafty Pint acting as the media partner, almost by default given our involvement in the festival itself.

We’ll be continuing as online media partner. And we are truly stoked that the festival we’ve dedicated so much time and energy to alongside a handful of other volunteers over the past two years is going into partnership with such established and rather cool organisations.

Here’s what the festival had to say today:

Good Beer Week is delighted to announce its media partners for 2013. The festival has joined forces with Time Out and 3RRR as print and radio partners respectively.

Time Out is published in more than 60 of the world’s major cities and has enjoyed rapid growth since launching in Australia in 2007.

Melbourne’s 3RRR community radio station is firmly established at the heart of the city’s cultural landscape. It is a proud supporter of pretty much anything that is good about Melbourne, so it is a great honour for Good Beer Week to strike up this partnership in just its third year.

“This is an exciting time for the festival,” says marketing manager Kate Paterson. “It shows how far we’ve come in less than two years from the moment the idea of a Good Beer Week was first raised over a few beers.

“Both Time Out and 3RRR a great fit for the festival and we’re really excited about what we’ve got planned with them for the months ahead.”

For the third year running, The Crafty Pint, Australia’s leading guide to craft beer, is the festival’s online media partner.

Good Beer Week returns to Melbourne and Victoria from May 18 to 26. The program features more than 140 events at almost 100 venues. The full lineup will be launched mid-March, with a 44-page print program being distributed alongside a new and improved, custom designed website.

In the past week, we’ve spent time with staff from Time Out and there are some awesome ideas being bounced around for the lead up to and during the festival. Here’s to an epic week of good times and great beer in May!
