OK, so other than the cherries added to the glass this isn’t strictly beer and food, but where else to file Crafty’s first beer cocktail?
A couple of weeks back we brought you the news that Beer DeLuxe had introduced a new beer cocktail menu, incorporating beers and the ingredients of beer, such as malty wort and hop-infused spirits. And now they’ve been kind enough to send us one of their recipes so you can try it at home.
In the spirit of fairness, we thought it best to avoid anything that required you to obtain fresh hop flowers to infuse into vodka over a hot water bath (although don’t let us discourage you if you’re feeling suitably inspired). Instead, here is a cocktail in which they’ve used the Hitachino Nest Sweet Stout, for which you can substitute any stout of your choosing. Who knows, if it goes well you’ll be attempting Holgate Temptress pannacottas a la Chris Badenoch on last night’s Iron Chef in no time.
