D-Day for GBW 2013!

D-Day for GBW 2013!

There are just 12 hours to go until submissions close for anyone wanting to be part of Good Beer Week 2013. And that’s only if you’re reading this at the exact second this story went live on the site. If not, there’s less than 12 hours to go – worst case scenario: the deadline has flown by like a ball of tumbleweed in an Alabaman tornado…

So, if you’re a brewer, venue or other beer-related operation who’s planning to be part of what is shaping up to be a truly mind-blowing week (and a bit) of quality beer awesomeness, then pull your finger out! Unlike last year, there will be no extensions to the deadline so as of midnight on Friday, November 30, you’re either in or you’re on the outside looking in.

According to Good Beer Week co-founder Miro Bellini: “Thanks to all who have registered. Even by previous Good Beer Week standards, the breadth and quality of submissions is breathtaking and will make compiling the program an unfettered joy.

“We sounded the call for quality and out marched the titans. Once again we sit humbled as, across Melbourne and Victoria, there has been an explosion of creativity reminding us just how much fun good beer can be.”

With the Good Beer Week team having spent most of the week fielding queries from people, it’s worth pointing out once more that if you’re still waiting to finalise some of your event details, don’t worry…

“Simply enter as much as you can into the site before midnight tonight so we can at least see how your idea could fit into the week,” says Miro. “There will be time to update or tweak submissions before the program is finalised.”

So, head here to become part of the festival. Or head here where we pulled together heaps of info on the festival, what it does and how to get involved.

TEMPLE / GOOD BEER WEEK SCHOLARSHIP

If you’re a young brewer, trainee brewer or someone in their first two years at a commercial brewery in Australia, don’t forget that the chance to win an all expenses paid trip to work at Sierra Nevada in California is up for grabs.

The Temple Good Beer Week Scholarship, which was announced at our People’s Pint Launch earlier in the year, is now open for submissions. Head here to put yourself forward. Or if you know a great brewer you’d like to see experience this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity you can nominate them yourself.

There’s more on the scholarship here too.

Good luck!
