Get Ready For Good Beer Week 2013

Submissions for the third Good Beer Week close on November 30 and through The Crafty Pint’s involvement on the organising committee we’re aware of loads of fantastic ideas for the festival. Next year’s six Pint of Origin* venues look to be locked in, while there could also be a couple of “satellite” PoO venues showcasing beers from all over Australia outside of Melbourne’s craft beer hub.

There will be the return of old favourites, the arrival of Australia’s first Craft Brewers Conference, the 21st running of the Australian International Beer Awards and a host of new venues taking part (including some we’ve never actually heard of before…). Look out for an expanded program of regional events too, with the likes of Geelong and Ballarat getting involved for the first time.

So, with time running out for anyone wanting to be a part of the awesomeness that is Good Beer Week, we thought we’d pull together all the information that’s out there to help people register – and to help newcomers understand what Australia’s leading celebration of good beer is all about. First up, a new video from the Good Beer Week team explaining the festival’s history…

And a previous one with less talking, more action…

In addition to that, you can find Event Guidelines here and Case Studies on previous successful events here. You can view an archived version of last year’s website and program here too. Two of the festival’s founders also appear on the latest edition of Radio Brews News, which you can listen to here.

If you’ve still got questions, you can pose any regarding the festival generally to this email or about sponsorship opportunities to this one.

Just remember, if you’re planning to get involved, you MUST register and pay for your event(s) by the end of the month. This earlier deadline is in response to feedback from last year as venues become too busy in the December run up to Christmas and leaving it until after summer is far too late for the Good Beer Week team to be able to ensure the perfect program is in place.

We know you’re talking about it anyway so now’s the time for action!

You can keep in touch with Good Beer Week via Twitter and Facebook. Also, look out for the festival’s ad in the new Time Out Melbourne Bar Guide – out this week!

*The Pint of Origin concept was introduced at the 2012 festival as a way of giving brewers all over Australia an opportunity to showcase their beers at Good Beer Week. Five venues turned over their taps to brewers from WA, SA, NSW, QLD and TAS. This year, we’ve added a Victorian venue too.
