BIRA Memberships For 2024 Now Open

BIRA, or the Australian Brewing Interlaboratory Reference Analytes, is a not-for-profit craft beer laboratory proficiency program created for brewers keen to ensure their testing is accurate.

Membership for 2024 has just opened. Below is a message from chair Clare Clouting about what's on offer.

Membership For BIRA 2024 Now Open

As the Chair of BIRA, I am excited to announce that the 2024 program membership is now open!

With the impending updates by FSANZ to mandate energy and carbohydrate labelling of beer there’s no better time to join BIRA and ensure your alcohol and apparent extract testing is accurate.

As always, the BIRA program will be covering all of the essential analytes including:

  • Alcohol-by-volume
  • Apparent Extract
  • Colour
  • Bitterness
  • pH
  • CO2
  • Total Acidity

We're always open to discussing additional analytes based on participant interest.

2024 Membership Costs:

BIRA is a not-for-profit volunteer led organisation. The BIRA leadership committee have set the 2024 membership at the revised rate of AUD $250, inclusive of 4 rounds of samples and postage throughout Australia.

While we welcome members from New Zealand, please note that shipping must be organised by the member.

Secure your place in the 2024 program by joining now.
